Maggee Day was born in London, Ontario. She works predominantly in the field of painting. Day attended Beal Art program in 2011 and is currently attending Ontario College of Art and Design to obtain a Bachelors of Fine Art in Drawing and Painting (2016). Day has shown artwork in the Beal Art Show, Kings College (Western University) and Imminent Art. She inspires to include techniques from Post-impressionists and “The Fauves” art movements. Day's painting style includes loose, painterly brush strokes with exaggerated color to bring character and emotion to her subject matter. Her goal is to bring the viewer to a state of mind where they see the subject matter as more than an abstracted representation of visual reality. Day seeks to bring character, emotion and a story to each of her subject matters while reminding the viewer it is simply paint on a canvas.
