ABOUT IMMINENT ART
Founded in 2013, Imminent Art's annual Emerging Artist exhibition features exceptional early-career Canadian artists. Imminent Art fosters a unique environment that gives emerging artists the chance to interact with gallery directors, art collectors and the general public.
The intent of the exhibition is to recognize, cultivate and amplify vital, new voices of creative endeavors in various artistic media. Emerging Artists enables these artists to reach broader national audiences and impact discourse in the visual arts.
ABOUT EMERGING ARTISTS
An emerging artist is on the cusp of being recognized for his or her professional career. An emerging artist may either be a student in the process of completing a studio-focused bachelors or masters degree or he or she has recently completed his or her studies and is currently working at the professional level.
An emerging artist, may have partook in group exhibitions, but has not yet had solo exhibitions at established commercial galleries or institutions, nor has received extensive press or market recognition. An emerging artist is underrepresented through exhibitions or publications that might otherwise bring the art work to wider attention.
